Criminals are born, not made... comment.

basically, i think that criminals are made, not born..

this is because, most of the time, people commit crime because they are influenced by the environment. these external factors may be the family upbringing, friends, media, etc. they may influence people into doing somethng bad. for example, a child who is constantly being abused by his parent may grow up to become violent and may also hurt others like what his parent did to him. hanging out with the wrong friends may cause a person to go astray. all these factors make a person into commiting crimes and thus, crimnals are made.

some may argue that a person commits crime because he is born so. for example, a person has a gene in him that cause him to be borned violent. however, this only means that this person has the potential to become a criminals. it does not guarantee that he will become a criminal. a large factor that finally make him into one will be the environment he lives in. if he grew up in a place that is full of joy and laughter, he wouldn't want to ruin his wonderful life and become a criminal.

A Hanging...

1. George show condemnation of capital punishment by describing how bad the superintendent feel when they saw the prisoner gradually die off from the hanging. this was what he wrote" The Indians had gone grey like bad coffee, and one or two of the boyonets were wavering." this show that even the people who hang the criminals do not feel too good when they saw the men die, so why should there be capital punishment?

george owell also wrote" it is curious, but till that moment i had never realised what it maens to destroy a healthy, conscious man. when i saw the prisoner step aside to avoid puddle, i sae the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life short when it is in full tide." through this descriptions, we can feel that it is wrong to kill a person when he is still so healthy and full of life. this also show strongly that georgr orwell condemns capital punishment.

2. some people argue that it is only right for people who commited serious crime like murder to be undergo capital punishment because these people had killed a lot of people and it is only right for them to pay back with their lives. or else it will not be fair to the innocent victims. also capital punishment will make people fearful and do not dare to commit crime as they do not want to die.

however critics may argue that it is wrong to kill a person even if he had done something that is unforgivable. those people who thinks that murderers should be hanged because they think that he is wrong to kill someone should think twice because they themselves are also thinking of killing someone. nobody in this world have the right to kill others.

3. in the past, i used to think that it is right to hang a murderer as this is what they deserve. it is only right for them to pay back their life to those they have killed. however after watching what ms low showed us on you tube about a criminal being hanged to death, i started to think that capital punishment is too cruel. in the video, i saw that criminal trembling with fear while resisting to be brought to the "place of his death". he knew months before his death on which day and what time he would be dead and couldn't even see what was happening around him, not a second before his death, because he was blind folded. it was torturing, helpless and he could not even fight for his life. before he was caught, he was such a ruthless person who is not afraid of anything and just moment before his death he was trembling so involuntarily... isn't it cruel of the punishment to turn him into that sate? maybe we should give him a life sentence and canning instead.

i think there should not be any circumstances where death penalty can be justified. because if we do not want others to kill, we should not kill others. however if that person is so horrible and peverted and kill people because they enjoy killing, he also deserve to be killed. but for those drug convicts, i think there should be other punishments for them instead of death sentence.

Introduction of me!

my name is yu jia. basically, i don't quite know how to introduce myself... okay.. let me start from my hobbie. i used to love watching television programmes. but ever since i entered jc, i found that the number of programmes i watched has lessened. this is because jc life is too tiring and if i ever have any free time at home, i will find myself sleeping. so now, i am "hobbieless".
my cca is harmonica. at first, what i really wanted to join was bowling. however this sports is too expensive. thus, i gave up. then, i went to join harmonica instead. in the start i felt that harmonica is quite interesting as the conductor, who is in his 80s, do a lot of funny things that made me brust into laughter everytime. also, my two friends were also in harmoc. that was why i kind of enjoy the harmoc sessions. but later on i was selected into the syf. the pieces for syf was so difficult. in addition, my friends said that they wanted to quit. these made me feel very restless and also feel like quitting. however with my sister's encouragement, i decided to continue. during the march holidays, i went for the harmoc camp and realised that the seniors in harmoc are very nice. so this made me more assured that i had chosen correctly by staying in harmoc. i started to practise very hard and now, though my skill is not perfect, but i have improve alot. yeah!
i love to eat alot of things, especially junk food. i like to listen to chinese pop music, especially jay's. i also like to tell 'lame' jokes and make people feel cold. but recently, i have run out of jokes.
that's all i want to introduce about myself.
